Tesla Model 3 Chassis Revealed Alongside 'Alien Dreadnought' Production Line
The chassis of the Tesla Model 3 has been revealed in a series of images leaked on the interweb along with Elon Musk's Alien Dreadnought production line.
A set of images from a Tesla subreddit that were later taken down has revealed what appears to be the chassis of the Model 3 sedan as the American electric carmakers kicked off a pilot production run for the upcoming car.
The images captured by Electrek, first posted on the Instagram of a person claiming to be the working on the pilot production run of the Model 3 show what appears to be the chassis of the upcoming car along with the so-called 'alien dreadnought' that is the production line for the Model 3.
The 'Alien Dreadnought' name given by Tesla boss Elon Musk may also be the reason why the new pilot production line sports the nickname 'Area 51'. Tesla's Freemont factory employees are known for giving teams at different workstations nicknames, and this could very well be more of the humour at work.
The chassis of the vehicle revealed in the images looks very similar to the like the render of the chassis (seen below) that Elon Musk showed off at the unveiling of the vehicle last year which does lend credence to the notion that this is indeed the chassis of the Tesla 3.
Production of the Tesla Model 3 will officially start in mid-2017 along with the deliveries. However, with over 350,000 customers booking the car, the first year of production is already sold out.
