Tesla Model 3 Body-In-White Revealed In Leaked Brochure
The Tesla Model 3's body-in-white has been revealed thanks to a leaked brochure for technicians.
The Tesla Model 3 is one of the most awaited cars in the world today and while numerous release candidates have been spotted in the wild, production is yet to start on the electric sedan.
Now though, a brochure leaked by Electrek of the Model 3 for technicians titled "Online Training for Tesla Approved Body Shops" has revealed an image of the Model 3 body-in-white. A body-in-white refers to the stage in automobile manufacturing in which a car body's sheet metal components have been welded together.
The brochure for the Model 3 shows the body-in-white image of the new car with the caption 'Coming July 2017' which suggests that Tesla is ramping up work as it prepares to start production of its newest car in less than two months time.
In fact, Tesla is offering a 30 percent rebate on parts for the shops that have at least two technicians who complete the whole course before July 1.
Body shops have been the cause for major repair delays on Tesla vehicles. Earlier this year, Tesla stated that it would be expanding its body shop network by 300 shops as well as opening a few company-owned shops.
The Model 3 is expected to start production in July, with deliveries expected to start later this year. Tesla had stated earlier that they had already completed the expansion of their paint shop for the Model 3 and that it was working to get the body welding and general assembly lines finished on time.
