Tata Tigor Bookings Start Ahead Of Launch In India
Tata Motors has commenced the booking of its soon to be launched Tigor. The new compact sedan will be launched in India on March 29, 2017.
Indian automaker Tata Motors have commenced the booking for its soon to be launched Tigor compact sedan. The new Styleback car will be launched in the Indian market on March 29, 2017.
The Tigor can be booked across Tata dealership in the country. The booking can be made by paying a token amount of Rs 5,000. It will be interesting to see the response to this newly designed compact sedan from Tata Motors.
Tata Tigor is based on its hatchback sibling, the Tiago. Tata Motors has ditched the traditional compact sedan design and gone for a notchback kind of styling, ‘Styleback' as per the company.
The design is refreshing, and Tata Motors has done enough work to distinguish the Tigor from its hatchback counterpart. The wheelbase of Tigor is 50mm more compared to the Tiago, and it also gets more space in the rear.
Coming to the features of the Tigor, the interior gets a touchscreen infotainment system with a host of connectivity options, automatic climate control and rear armrest with cupholders. Surprisingly, the car gets a boot space of 419 litres.
The Tigor is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine producing 84bhp and 114Nm of torque; the diesel variant draws power from a 1.05-litre Revotorq engine churning out 69bhp and 140Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Tigor is expected to be the next big thing from Tata Motors as the compact sedan is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 4.2 lakh to Rs 6.5 lakh. When launched in India the new Styleback will take on its segment rivals such as Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and Hyundai Xcent.
