Tata Hexa Off To A Good Start Since Launch
The Tata Hexa will be judged based on the sales performance of the SUV from the first month of launch as demonisation withers out.
Tata Motors' has sold 1,498 units of the Hexa since its launch on January 17, 2017. The Hexa is the second vehicle from Tata Motors to receive the IMPACT design philosophy, Tiago was the first car launched with same design language.
Tiago's has emerged as one of the best-selling cars in the country, and many have appreciated the design language. Tata launched the Hexa with the intention to break into the premium SUV segment with the price range between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 18 lakh.
The Hexa is based on the Aria platform and to showcase its prowess as an off-road vehicle; the company created Hexa experience centres in four major cities - Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai.
The event aimed at providing the first-hand experience of the Hexa to potential customers. During the event, Tata Motors offered off-road experience to the people to the SUVs capabilities. The company is further planning to have a similar event in Hyderabad.
The pre-booking of the Tata Hexa were nearly 6,000 out of which 60 percent were towards the automatic variants.
The Hexa powered by either a 2.2-litre Varicor 400 and Varicor 320 engines. The Varicor 400 develops 400Nm of torque and 153bhp, while the Varicor 320 produces 320Nm of torque and 147bhp with only the 5-speed manual gearbox.
As for the safety features of the Tata Hexa, equipped with electronic stability program, Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD and six airbags.
The Hexa also offers rain-sensing wipers, Flexi seat, cruise control and Harman infotainment system with 10 JBL speakers.
Tata Motors feels that the utility vehicle (UV) segment has a lot of scope for the company and can expect more from the home-grown automaker in the later half of 2017.
With the aim of catering to customers who prefer utility lifestyle products, the company is looking ahead to the future.
The company has further planned to launch a subcompact SUV Nexon to take on models such as Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport this year.
