Chennai-Based Volta Motors To Get Investment From Smartron
Smartron, a Hyderabad-based start-up will invest in Volta Motors, a Chennai-based electric mobility solution company.
Volta Motors, a Chennai-based electric mobility solution company will receive funding from Smartron, a Hyderabad-based start-up. The company will be called Tron Motors, a Smartron company.
The company has not revealed the amount that will be invested in Volta Motors. The Chennai-based Volta Motors has designed the ‘Volta Zap' crossover bike, and after the investment, Volta Motors will develop, manufacture, and commercialise the product.
The company intends to bring out a range of Internet of Things (IoT) enabled electric vehicles that will be designed, engineered, and manufactured in India, to be sold in the country and globally.
Anoop Nishanth, the CEO of Volta Motors said, "We are excited to be a part of Smartron's journey. We share similar synergies of bringing in smart and innovative products that are aligned to create an Indian brand that is recognised globally."
