Skoda has updated its flagship model range with new features. The Skoda Superb sedan and Skoda Superb Combi will be rolled out with new safety features and upgraded connectivity solutions globally.
Skoda has introduced Care Connect as a standard feature regardless of the choice of the infotainment system.
The Care Connect features an automatic emergency call and gets activated following a crash if a restraint system has been triggered. The car sets a voice and data connection to an emergency call centre and transmits all the required data. The emergency call can also be initiated manually through a button in the roof module.
Additionally, remote access to the car is now possible through the Skoda Connect App. The smartphone can notify the driver whether the windows and doors are closed, or the lights are off, among other things.
The parking position function reveals the location of the vehicle, the "Honk & Flash" function makes it simpler to find the vehicle by activating the horn and hazard lights.
Skoda Superb now receives the display of the Columbus navigation system which has grown from 8 to 9.2 inches and the system Swing from 5 to 6.5 inches.
The infotainment system comes with SmartLink+ which supports navigation, infotainment and communication apps from the smartphone into the car. Also, it provides vehicle data for the evaluation on the smartphone.
Skoda has also introduced park distance control system with extended function Manoeuvre Assist. The system detects obstructions in front of the vehicle, and it not only alerts the driver with optical and acoustic signals but also brakes the vehicle automatically if required.
The Skoda Superb will now come with 19-inch alloy wheels, and the Czech carmaker has introduced a new velvet red colour to its current line-up.
