Skoda Kodiaq Added On Indian Website — Launch Imminent?
The Kodiaq SUV has been added to the Skoda India website. The SUV is expected to be launched in the near future. The Kodiaq is slotted above the Superb sedan.
The Indian wing of the Czech automaker, Skoda is all set to introduce it's latest offering the Kodiaq in the country. Ahead of that, the model has been added on the Indian website.
On the Skoda India website, the Kodiaq SUV is slotted above the Superb sedan. The website reads, Kodiaq (En Route). The SUV was first showcased as Vision S concept model in 2016.
The Kodiaq will be the flagship model for Skoda in India. The SUV is likely to be offered in a seven-seat layout for the Indian market. The Kodiaq is based on the same platform of the Superb sedan.
The Kodiaq is likely to draw power from the existing 2-litre diesel motor which also powers the Volkswagen Tiguan. The oil burner produces 147bhp and 300Nm of torque.
The new SUV is expected to be equipped with Skoda's 7-speed DSG gearbox. A 6-speed manual transmission might also be offered. The SUV is likely to be feature rich on the interior.
The interior of the Kodiaq is likely to feature a touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable front seats, automatic climate control and six airbags as standard on all the variants.
The new Kodiaq SUV will be manufactured at company's Aurangabad plant in India. The SUV is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 25 lakh to Rs 32 lakh. The Kodiaq will rival the likes of Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
