Self Driving Car Race Ends In A Crash — Who Said Self-Driving Cars Were Safer?
First ever race between self-driving cars ends in crash.
The first ever race demonstration by Roborace, the autonomous racing series connected to Formula E, ended in a crash.
The test run of the self-driving racing series was quite promising with one of the cars even hitting 115mph (185km/h).
However, the race had a rather shambolic end as one of the autonomous racing demonstrators (called Devbots by the developers of the racing series) pulled off a rather human move and ended up crashing into the wall at the Buenos Aires track after taking a corner too aggressively.

Roborace was quick to point out that no drivers were harmed in the crash but it did prove that the self-driving tech still needs some work before it can be fully deployed.
