Report: 60% Of Renault Kwid Sales Come From 1.0-litre Variants
Renault is managing to sell around 9,000 units of Kwid per month.
Renault launched the Kwid in India back in 2015, and since then the company has sold over 1.5 lakh units. The company has kept up the pace, by regularly introducing new variants and updating the features on the Kwid. In August 2016, a 1.0-litre variant was added to the line-up followed by its AMT variant.
According to a report by Car and Bike, both the 1.0-litre variants are contributing high sales. The Kwid 1.0-litre variant is providing around 60 percent of the total monthly sales of the Renault Kwid in India.
The manufacturer is managing to sell around 9,000 units of Kwid per month. The 1.0-litre Kwid variant was launched for just Rs 22,000 over the standard 0.8-litre model. Even though, it has successfully managed to grab the attention of customers.
Another interesting fact is half of these sales of the Kwid 1.0 are coming from the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) variant. Currently, Kwid AMT is contributing 30 percent to the total sales of the Kwid in the country.
Recently, Renault also introduced an RXL variant for the Kwid 1.0 MT & AMT line-up as well for the standard version. The sales bump in the AMT variant is a clear indication of the increasing popularity of automatic vehicles in the country.
