French automaker Renault is all set to introduce the new compact crossover, the Kaptur in the Indian market. Ahead of that the Kaptur was spotted testing in Chennai.
Motor Vikatan has spotted the Kaptur testing with the new LED DRLs. The vehicle is heavily camouflaged, and the headlight and the new LED DRLs are the only visible design elements.
The front fascia of the Kaptur features LED projector headlights and C-shaped LED DRLs. The rear end of the crossover also gets LED tail lamps and spoiler.
The interior of the Renault Katpur features 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control and automatic climate control. The compact crossover is shod with 17-inch alloy wheels. Apart from that, the vehicle is equipped with reverse parking camera.
The Kaptur is based on the same platform which also underpins the Duster SUV. Globally, the compact crossover is offered with a range of petrol and flex-fuel engine options.
But the India-spec model is likely to draw power from the Duster's 1.5-litre petrol and diesel motor. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 105bhp, whereas the diesel engine is offered in two tune options: 84bhp and 108bhp.
Renault is likely to launch the Kaptur in the Indian market by this year's festive season. The compact crossover is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
