Renault Halts Production At Several Sites — Reason Will Shock You
French automaker Renault has halted production at several sites due to a global cyber attack. A spokesman from the company revealed this information.
French automaker Renault has stopped the production at several sites to prevent a global cyber attack. The company spokesman has revealed this information.
The spokesman said, "Proactive measures have been put in place, including the temporarily suspension of industrial activity at some sites." The Paris prosecutor has commenced an investigation following the attack.
Renault's manufacturing facility at Sandouville in northwestern France was one of the plants to stop the production. But the spokesman refused to reveal the list affected sites.
Renault is the first French company to report being affected by such a cyber attack. The attack has infected tens of thousands of computers in around 100 countries.
Renault's rival company, PSA Group, has not suffered any such attacks, said a spokesman for the company. Renault has not revealed any further information on the intensity of the attack.
