Spy Pics: Production-Spec Volkswagen Tiguan Spotted Ahead Of Launch
The production version of the Volkswagen Tiguan has been spotted at Skoda's production facility. The variants of the SUV has also been revealed in the spy shots.
German automaker Volkswagen is all set to launch its new SUV, Tiguan in the Indian market. Ahead of that the production version of the SUV is spotted at Skoda's manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
TeamBHP has spotted the Tiguan. The spy shots of the SUV also reveals the dashboard layout and passenger seats of the SUV. These are the clearest images of the Tiguan till date. The SUV is finished in the white paint scheme.
The Tiguan SUV is based on the Volkswagen Group's flexible MQB platform. The company stated that they had achieved a weight reduction of 50kg compared to the previous generation model.
The front fascia of the Tiguan features a wide grille with chrome inserts. The chrome inserts extend all the way to the headlamp assembly. The headlamp features LED lights and daytime running lights.
The spy images also reveal the two variants of Tiguan. One of the trim gets chrome inserts on the front bumper, and the other one doesn't. The two variants are expected to be named as Comfortline and Highline.
The Tiguan will be offered in a 5-seat configuration. The interior of the SUV features touchscreen infotainment, flat-bottom steering wheel, automatic climate control and Piano black inserts.
The India-spec Tiguan draws power from a 2-litre four cylinder TDI diesel engine producing 147bhp. The oil burner will be mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. When launched in India the SUV will lock horns with the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V.
