Spy Pics: Production-Spec Tata Nexon Spotted Ahead of India Launch
Tata Motors is working on its new compact SUV, the Nexon. Now the production ready model has been spotted and the India launch is expected by October 2017.
Indian automaker Tata Motors is on a roll this year with the launch of new products. The company started off with the Hexa in 2017 and then launched the AMT variant of the Tiago.
The Tigor sedan is also on the cards and is expected to be launched in next few weeks. Tata Motors is working on another model, that is the Nexon crossover SUV. The vehicle made its European debut at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show and is ready to hit the Indian market.
The Nexon has been spotted several times testing on the Indian roads. But this time, Carwale has spotted the production ready model rolling out of the assembly line.
Tata Nexon compact SUV is based on the company's Impact design language which features signature honeycomb grille, projector headlamps with daytime running lights, thick body cladding, roof rails and body coloured ORVMs.
It is expected that the Nexon will be offered with dual tone paint scheme, but the spotted model features white colour monotone paint scheme.
The compact SUV will be available with two engine options, a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.2-litre petrol engine. The transmission option includes a 6-speed manual gearbox, and an AMT variant is also expected to be offered.
Previously, Tata Motors CEO and MD, Guenter Butschek stated that the Nexon would be launched in India two weeks before the festival of Diwali. So the launch date can be assumed to be the first week of October 2017.
Expect the Nexon to be priced in the range of Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. When launched in India the compact SUV will take on its segment rivals such as Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Mahindra TUV 300.
Tata Motors also showcased its sub-brand Tamo's sports car, the Racemo at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Check out the extensive photos of the new car by clicking the gallery below.
