Confirmed! Porsche Will Bring The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid To India
Porsche has begun receiving bookings for the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid in India; 4.0-litre V8 engine powers the car coupled with an electric motor.
Porsche has confirmed that it will launch the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid soon in India as the company looks to expand its portfolio in the country.
As per CarandBike, Porsche has said the bookings for the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid would start in next few weeks, and the prices will be revealed at the same time; however, deliveries for the car will commence only by early 2018.
As for the engine specs of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, it will use the same 541bhp, 4.0-litre V8 petrol powertrain as the Panamera Turbo. However, the V8 in the hybrid will be coupled with a 134bhp electric motor; together the total power output is rated at 671bhp while developing a combined torque of 850Nm.
The motor is mated the same 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) automatic gearbox sending the power to all four wheels. With the additional power from the electric motor, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid sprints from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with the assistance of the Sports Chrono Package.
The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will also come with the option of an extended wheelbase format - the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Executive.
Regarding the design and dimensions, both the trims will remain same to their petrol-powered equivalents apart from new styling bits which carry the hybrid classification.
The classifications include red brake callipers on the Panamera Turbo have been substituted with a neon green one, and the 'E-Hybrid' badging on both sides on the door highlighted in neon green.
Apart from the Hybrid branding, the rest of the design language remain the same with the new 4-point LED headlamp cluster, redesigned front bumper with the new large central air dam and large air intakes.
The rear profile gets the similar wraparound LED taillamps with the connection 3D element edged by the retractable split spoiler. The cabin layout and design also remain unchanged.
