Porsche Dealership Hints — Cayman GT4 RS With A Bigger Engine
Porsche dealership hints at the Cayman GT4 RS with a 4-litre engine
Porsche launched the Cayman GT4 back in 2015. Now, the media outlets are reported hinting that the German carmaker is coming up with an even faster and more exciting GT4 RS variant.
The 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 is a version of the mid-engined sports car that's been equipped with a larger engine from the 911. As of now, there is no trace about such a model (GT4 RS), but a dealership in Australia has given a strong hint that it's on the move.
Porsche Centre Brisbane posted on its Instagram account that "Due to high demand, a GT4 RS is on its way - with more power and a 4.0L flat-six engine, this limited model will turn heads."
The 2015 GT4 is powered by a 3.8-litre flat six engine. The engine churns out 380bhp of power. It is mated to a modified version of the Cayman GTS's six-speed manual gearbox. The car can catapult from a 0 to 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
Now getting back to the GT4 RS variant, Mechanically, there are rumors that the Cayman GT4 RS will continue to produce the same 500 hp as the GT3 RS. Which, is significantly much more than the standard GT4 producing 380 hp of power. Moreover, the next GT3 RS will profit from an even larger 4.2-liter, flat six engine.
An official from Porsche Cars Australia said that a GT4 RS is not on the cards but we're remaining hopeful. Reportedly, if such a model is being worked on, then it could make its way at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
