Petrol Price Raised By 42 Paise; Diesel Hiked By Rs 1.03 Per Litre
The prices of petrol and diesel have been hiked across India once again, the second hike in a fortnight.
The prices of petrol and diesel have been raised by 42 paise and Rs 1.03 per litre respectively, effective from Sunday midnight. The price hike does not include state levies and the actual hike will be higher still.
In Delhi, after the application of VAT, the price of a litre of petrol has increased by 53 paise and now stands at Rs 71.13 compared to the previous rate of Rs 70.60. The price of diesel in the nation's capital has increased by Rs 1.20 a litre post tax and now stands at Rs 59.02/litre compared to the previous rate of Rs 57.82 a litre.
The hike in prices is the fourth increase for petrol in six weeks and the third in the case of diesel in one month. The Indian Oil Corporation stated, "The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and Rupee-US Dollar exchange rate warrant increase in selling price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision."
Worried about the increasing petrol and diesel prices and about to buy a new car. The newly launched Maruti Suzuki Ignis may be the perfect match for you as it promises brilliant mileage in both petrol and diesel guises.
