Now You Can Pay Traffic Challan Through Paytm
Mobile payment platform Paytm has launched a new service through which you can pay traffic challan.
Usually, we pay the traffic challans through cash at various counters provided. But from now on you can pay the challan through your smartphone.
Mobile payment platform Paytm has launched the traffic challan payment service on its smartphone application.
Paytm users can just log on to the app and select the "Traffic Challan" option and enter the vehicle's details and proceed to payment after few verifications. The new system encourages cashless transactions.
Senior Vice President at Paytm, Kiran Vasireddy said, "Traffic Challan payments in India largely happen at select counters and in cash. We are glad to partner with the state traffic police departments to enable challan payments on the go."
After the payment is made, Paytm will generate a digital invoice. The customer's documents will be dispatch through postal services by the respective police department.
Vasireddy added, "This is a new stride in our vision to add convenience to every payment use-case in the country." For now, Paytm has partnered with state police departments of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala and West Bengal. The company plans to expand it to other cities.
