Nissan To Make Automatic Emergency Braking Standard Next Year
Nissan will make automatic emergency braking system standard in its popular models in the US, starting next year.
Japanese carmaker Nissan will make automatic emergency braking standard for several models next year in the US. The news was officially announced by Nissan's American division.
Popular models such as the Rogue, Rogue Sport, Altima, Sentra, Maxima, Leaf, Murano, and the Pathfinder will be equipped with the new safety feature.
According to the carmaker, around 1 million Nissan vehicles sold in the country will benefit from automatic emergency braking. The models mentioned above will have the safety feature across all variants as standard.
As per a research by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, automatic emergency braking is a life saver that helps reduce road accidents by a large number. Following the study, most automakers present in the US have decided to equip their cars with automatic braking.
According to an agreement, all new vehicles sold in the US will have automatic emergency braking as a standard feature by the year 2022. The system works in such a way that the car brakes automatically in case of an emergency.
Swedish carmaker Volvo has made automatic emergency braking standard across its models sold in the US already, and Toyota is following up by introducing the same system in some of its popular models in the US.
