All-New Volkswagen Polo To Debut At The 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show
Volkswagen is all geared up to debut the sixth-generation of its hatchback, the Polo. The new iteration of the hatchback will be showcased at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
German automaker Volkswagen is all set to reveal the sixth-generation of its popular hatchback, the Polo at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017.
The all-new Polo is expected to be a major depart from the current model, as it will be based on Volkswagen's new MQB-A0 platform. The new car will also feature updated range of engines and revised suspension.
As far as the size of the hatchback is concerned, the new Polo will be longer and wider. But despite the change in dimensions, the car will be lighter compared to the current-gen model.
The new Volkswagen Polo will feature a dynamic exterior design. The highlight of this design will be a sloping roofline, redesigned headlamps and a more structured rear section.
The new Polo will be available in both three and five-door body styles, but it is not confirmed whether Volkswagen will offer the cross variant of the car as the company is already working on a new SUV.
The interior of the new Polo will continue to emphasise the quality and fit and finish of the material. Volkswagen is expected to stuff the new car with latest tech features which include an infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and a wide array of safety systems.
On the mechanical front, the new Polo is expected to replace the old 1.4-litre TSI with a new 1.5-litre TSI petrol motor offered in two power bands - 128bhp and 148bhp. The entry-level model will be equipped with a 1-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. The diesel variant will draw power from an updated 1.6-litre engine.
