Next-Generation Renault Duster Unveil Date Confirmed
The 2nd generation Renault Duster is expected to make its debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The compact SUV might be built on the company's new CMF-B platform.
The 2017 Renault Duster, which is retailed as Dacia Duster in Europe, will be revealed on June 22, 2017.
Renault's sister brand Dacia will reveal the second-generation Duster at a special event in Paris. The official debut of the new Duster will be at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show. Reports suggest that the next-generation Duster will be based on Renault-Nissan's new CMF-B platform.
The current Renault Duster is built on the BO/ Logan platform, which underpins the upcoming Renault Kaptur as well. The Renault Kaptur is expected to be launched in India by the end of 2017. The 2017 Renault Duster will be launched in 2018 mainly because the French company launched the mid-life facelift only last year.
If Renault underpins the new Duster with the CMF-B platform, the SUV will receive improved hardware and an increased price tag.
Renault has been extensively testing the second-generation Duster and looking by the spy images, the design language and the dimensions seem to be unchanged. However, with the test mule highly camouflaged, it indicates that the new Duster will get revised styling cues and a host of features.
Among the new features expected on the new Duster, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, new front and rear bumper are expected to spruce the premium quotient of the Duster.
Along with the changes to the exterior of the new Duster, the cabin too will be revised. Though the company has not revealed the details of the interiors, we expect the new Duster with several new comfort features.
With India moving towards safer cars, Renault is also expected to offer airbags, ABS and ESC as standard fitment in the 2017 Renault Duster. Recently, Global NCAP had crash tested the current-generation Duster, and the results were not something that Renault could boast about.
While Renault has not confirmed, we expect the new Duster to be offered with both 7-seater and 5-seater layout. We will bring you more information of the new Duster when it debuts or is unveiled later this month.
Powering the 2017 Duster, Renault might offer an upgraded 1.6-litre diesel engine with better power, fuel efficient and non-pollutant as well. The company could offer a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine as well.
