New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport India Launch Details Revealed
Mitsubishi will launch the all-new Pajero Sport in the Indian market by next year's summer. Read more.
Japanese automaker Mitsubishi will introduce the new Pajero Sport in the Indian market. Autocar India reports that the SUV will be launched in the country by summer next year.
The SUV is internally known as QX and QE in some markets, and the SUV sits on a ladder frame chassis and is based on the Triton pickup truck. The overall design of the SUV is muscular, and from the front, the SUV looks butch.
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport features high-set bonnet with a new grille. Mitsubishi calls the grille design as 'Dynamic Shield’ with fat chrome band across the radiator and chin. Mitsubishi claims that the large grille avoids windscreen splash when driving in deep water.
The India-spec Pajero Sport will draw power from a 2.4-litre MIVEC, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine producing 181bhp and 430Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The new Pajero Sport will be equipped with Mitsubishi’s updated Super Select four-wheel-drive system. The interior of the SUV is more upmarket compared to the current model. It features a large infotainment system with all the connectivity options.
The new Pajero Sport will lock horns with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. The price of SUV is likely to be higher compared to the current model.
DriveSpark Thinks!
Mitsubishi is trying to capture the SUV segment in India by launching the all-new Pajero Sport. But it all depends on how Mitsubishi will price the SUV to take on its competitors such as Ford and Toyota.
