2017 Mitsubishi Outlander India Launch Details Revealed
Mitsubishi is all set to relaunch the Outlander crossover in the Indian market. The dealers are already accepting the bookings for the crossover.
Japanese automaker Mitsubishi is all set to relaunch the Outlander crossover in the Indian market. The new Outlander will be imported from Japan as a CBU product.
Autocar India has reported that the 2017 Outlander will be launched in the Indian market later this year. Previously the crossover was sold in the country as a second-gen model in 2008.
Later in 2010, the Outlander got a major facelift. But being a petrol-only model, it was sidelined by the likes of Toyota Fortuner. The third-gen Outlander went on sale in 2012 in the global markets.
The front fascia of the 2017 Outlander features Dynamic Shield design grille, LED projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. The side profile of the crossover features a wagon-like design with cladding around the body.
The rear of the new Outlander gets large tailgate, chrome accents and LED taillamps placed horizontally. The Outlander will be offered in a single variant with a seven-seater configuration.
The India-spec Outlander will draw power from a 2.4-litre four cylinder petrol engine producing 169bhp and 225Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to a 6-speed CVT gearbox with an all-wheel-drive system.
Mitsubishi has not revealed any information about the India launch of the 2017 Outlander. But some of the dealers have commenced the bookings for the crossover. The deliveries will begin from September this year.
The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander is likely to carry a price tag of Rs 29 lakh ex-showroom. The crossover will rival the likes of Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson and yet to be launched Jeep Compass.
