Mercedes-Benz India Drops Prices — Effective Immediately
Mercedes-Benz India has dropped prices across its made in India range owing to GST. The cars will cost almost 9 percent less.
German carmaker Mercedes-Benz' Indian arm has slashed prices of its 'made in India' cars from 2 to 9 percent, effective immediately.
The company made the announcement in a press release, saying the decrease in price was due to GST. The carmaker says this will benefit customers who want to purchase a locally made car.
Speaking about the revision of prices, Roland Folger, the Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India said, "As a customer-centric initiative, we are now passing on the benefits of post-GST pricing of our ‘Made in India' cars with immediate effect."
"To ensure complete peace of mind for our customers, we have decided to pass on the GST tax benefits at an earlier stage at our cost. This approach will benefit the customers who want to purchase a locally produced Mercedes-Benz from now on and during the month of June."
The price reduction of the entire ‘made in India' range of Mercedes models will vary from 2 to 9 percent, depending on the tax structure and local body taxes of the state.
