Mercedes-Benz Concept A Sedan Revealed — The Future Of A-Class Sedan?
German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has revealed the Concept A Sedan at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show. The concept car is said to be the future of compact cars from the German car maker.
German automaker Mercedes-Benz has revealed the Concept A sedan at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. The previewed concept car is said to be the future of compact vehicles from the German auto major.
The Concept A sedan looks completely different from the small A-Class, B-Class and CLA models from Mercedes-Benz. It is said that this is the direct preview of the next-gen A-Class sedan.
The front fascia of the concept sedan features trademark Panamerican grille and triangular-shaped headlights with inner designs and purple illuminated elements. The lower end of the front bumper features wide air intakes with blacked out components.
Mercedes-Benz stated that the inner structure of the headlight is coated with UV paint and then exposed to ultraviolet light. Hence the purple glow.
Apart from that, the Concept A sedan features slimline wing ORVMs, flush-fitting door handles and a floating B-pillar. The car also gets muscular front and rear wheel arches and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The rear section of the Concept A Sedan features sharper lines, and like the front, the triangular-shaped lights tapered towards the registration plate area.
Chief Designer Officer, Daimler AG, Gorden Wagener said "Our Concept A Sedan shows that the time of creases is over. With its perfect proportions and a sensual treatment of surfaces with reduced lines, it is the next milestone of Sensual Purity and has the potential to introduce a new design era."
