Mercedes-AMG Hypercar Teased Again At CES 2017 — Will Feature F1 Engine
The upcoming 1,000bhp Mercedes-AMG hypercar has been teased again at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show. The hypercar Will use a tuned version of Merc's Fq powertrain.
The upcoming Mercedes-AMG hypercar has been teased once again in an image shown at the German carmaker's event at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The teaser image was accompanied by the tagline 'Creating benchmark driving pleasure', suggesting that the car will focus more on driving pleasure than on lap times.
However, with a 1,000bhp Formula One powertrain (1.6-litre turbo V6, electric motors and energy recovery systems) sitting in the middle and an expected 1,000-kilo kerb weight, don't expect this car to be a slouch in the speed department.
The new Mercedes-AMG hypercar is expected to debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in September as AMG celebrates its 50th anniversary. The hypercar is expected to be priced at around €2 million (Rs 14.34 crore) and only 200-300 units are expected to hit the streets.

AMG's 50th birthday present to itself looks to be something of a monster, but let's hope it lives up to previous birthday cars from other supercar makers.
Case in point, the mental Lamborghini Centenario, the most powerful Lamborghini to ever hit the streets. Click on the image gallery of the insane Centenario below to see how Lamborghini celebrates birthdays.
