McLaren 'Hyper-GT' Will Be One Of The Fastest McLarens Ever Built
The McLaren Hyper-GT will be one of the fastest and most powerful models ever built by the car manufacturer. The car is codenamed as BP23 and is inspired by the iconic F1.
In 2016, McLaren revealed that it was working on a new 'Hyper-GT' car with a 3-seat layout taking inspiration from the iconic F1. Now more details have been revealed about the new super car.
Mike Flewitt, McLaren Chief Executive, stated that the Hyper-GT is codenamed as BP23 and will be one of the fastest and most powerful models ever produced by the company.
However, the technical specifications of the Hyper-GT are unlikely to be revealed until its arrival in 2019. But it is a known fact that the car will feature a hybrid powertrain, an evolved version of the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 designed for the 720S.
It is expected that the Hyper-GT will be a touch less powerful than the McLaren P1 Hypercar but will have more power compared to the 720S.
Unlike other McLaren cars, the Hyper-GT will not be designed only for performance. As the name implies, the car will create a new segment of comfortable GT cars with exceptional performance.
According to reports, the Hyper-GT will feature a full carbon fibre monocoque, shrink-wrapped carbon across the exterior and dihedral doors. Only 106 examples of the car will be built, and all have already been accounted for.
McLaren revealed its latest offering, the 720S at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Check out the extensive photos of the new super car by clicking the gallery below.
