India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki will launch its new generation Swift Dzire sedan in May 2017. The Swift Dzire is one of the most popular sedans in the country and the upcoming model was spotted several times on the Indian roads.
The carmaker will also weed-out current-gen Dzire Tour from its production line-up by February to make way for the new Dzire. Maruti will also start the production of the 2017 Swift Dzire by March this year.
The new avatar of the Swift Dzire will get some changes both inside and outside. Up front, the new model will feature a new face with stylish headlamps, new grille and fog lamps, and also LED DRLs. Out back, the model gets new LED tail lamps and a new bumper.
Inside, the 2017 Swift Dzire will sport a dual-tone colour scheme, automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, a touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted audio controls and more.
The 2017 Swift Dzire will most likely to draw power from the same 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel as the ongoing model. Transmission choices include; a 5-speed manual, a 4-speed torque converter and an AMT gearbox.
We can also expect Maruti to come up with an SHVS mild hybrid technology on the new-gen Dzire. The carmaker might also consider 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine for the 2017 model of its popular sedan.
