Maruti Suzuki Celerio Facelift India Launch Details Revealed
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is one of the best-selling cars in India and the hatchback is due for an update. The updated Celerio is likely to be launched by this year's festive season.
The Celerio is one of the best-selling hatchbacks for India's leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki. Launched in 2014, the car certainly needs a makeover to compete with the current generation models.
Now, Gaadiwaadi reports that the Celerio facelift is in the works and will be launched in the Indian market by this year's festive season. The updated hatchback will feature significant changes to the overall design.
The facelifted Celerio will be based on the A-Wind concept showcased in 2013. The front fascia of the car is expected to feature L-shaped DRLs, redesigned grille and chrome inserts on the fog lamp housing.
The side profile of the 2017 Celerio is likely to get black mouldings to give it a crossover appeal. The car will also get ORVM integrated turn indicators, blacked out A and B pillar and a floating roof design on the top-of-the-range variants.
The rear end of the car might feature a roof spoiler, newly designed tail light cluster, and redesigned bumper. The overall design is in line with the current trend, and the car looks aggressive compared to the current model.
The interior of the facelifted Celerio will feature a touchscreen infotainment system, premium upholstery materials and piano black detailing. A few other features maybe added to compete with the modern players such as the Renault Kwid.
The currently sold Celerio draws power from a 1-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 67bhp and 90Nm of torque. The CNG variant produces 59bhp and 78Nm of torque. The facelifted model is expected to carry forward the same powertrain.
When launched in India, the facelifted Celerio will rival the likes of Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago, Nissan Micra, Honda Brio and Renault Pulse.
