Maruti Dzire Waiting Period Is Already At Crazy Levels — Reason Revealed
The waiting period of the new Maruti Dzire has already reached crazy levels after the company experienced a huge booking surge prior to its launch.
The waiting period for the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire has already reached 10 weeks after the company reported that it had received over 33,000 bookings for the new compact hatchback at its launch yesterday.
Maruti opened bookings for the new Dzire on May 5th, 11 days ahead of the car's launch. Thanks to the booking amount of Rs 11,000 and the popularity of the old model, Maruti received over 33,000 bookings for the new sedan in just 11 days, averaging around 3,000 bookings per day.
However, the huge number of bookings has resulted in large waiting periods especially in the case of Dzire's fitted with the 5-speed manual gearbox.
Dealers are stating that the waiting period for the manual Dzire variants is around 8 - 10 weeks while customers who ordered variants fitted with Maruti's AGS gearbox (AMT) have to wait for around four to five weeks for their new cars to be delivered.
Maruti is offering the AMT gearbox with all variants of the new Dzire excluding the base variants.
The new Maruti Dzire is lighter than the car it replaces and therefore it is much more frugal than before. The diesel Dzire returns a mileage of 28.40km/l which makes it the most fuel efficient car currently on sale in India.
Add in the extra legroom and shoulder room and the more premium interiors, those who pre-booked the cars in advance, will not be disappointed.
Prices for the new Maruti Dzire start at Rs 5.45 lakh for the base petrol variant and Rs 6.45 lakh for the base LDi diesel (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
