New Maruti Dzire Bookings And Waiting Period Goes Up
India's leading automaker Maruti Suzuki recently launched the new Dzire and the compact sedan has already garnered over 50,000 bookings.
India’s leading automaker Maruti Suzuki launched the new Dzire on May 16, 2017. The compact sedan achieved 33,000 bookings at the time of launch.
As per emerging reports, the new compact sedan has garnered over 50,000 bookings since launch. But Maruti Suzuki has a hard time to meet the demand. ET Auto reports that the waiting period stands at over three months.
But the sales of the Dzire dipped in May 2017. Maruti Suzuki sold 9,073 units as opposed to the 16,968 units in May 2016. The shifting of the manufacturing process to the new plant has affected the supply and sales.
The 2017 Maruti Dzire is based on the HEARTECT platform which also underpins the Baleno. The compact sedan is available in two engine options, a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre oil burner.
The transmission option of the new Dzire includes a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).
