Mahindra TUV500 Spotted Testing — Is Innova Crysta’s Arch Nemesis Nearing Its Launch?
Mahindra’s upcoming MPV, the TUV500 has been spied testing and the images reveal most of the design. Read on for more.
Mahindra is extensively testing the TUV500 MPV on Indian roads before its official launch. The vehicle was spotted testing in Mettupalayam, Tamil Nadu. The vehicle was spotted by an avid DriveSpark reader, Jitesh.
The images reveal the boxy design of the MPV, which is a long-wheel base version of Mahindra's sub-4-metre vehicle, the TV300. The spied vehicle will be a 7, or even an 8-seater, while the last row could be forward-facing.
Interior pictures are not available, and the pictures reveal the rear design of the vehicle, which again, looks identical to the TUV300, apart from the extended overhangs.
Powering the new Mahindra MPV will be the 2.2-litre diesel engine as reports suggested earlier and not the 1.5-litre mill. Also, Mahindra could offer the 6-speed automatic gearbox option, instead of the AMT unit from the TUV300.
Mahindra has not hinted at any launch details, but expect the MPV to make its official debut sometime this year. When launched, the TUV500 will rival the Toyota Innova Crysta directly.
