Indian automaker Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to introduce the facelifted Scorpio in the Indian market. Ahead of that the launch details of the updated Scorpio has been revealed.

Mahindra is likely to launch the Scorpio facelift by the end of July or early August 2017. The exterior design of the SUV will get a major overhaul.

The 2017 Mahindra Scorpio facelift is likely to feature redesigned front grille and rear door. The plastic cladding will be skipped in the updated model too. The facelifted SUV will also feature revamped front and rear bumper and lamps.

The new facelifted Scorpio will bear a premium look compared to the currently sold model. The interior will feature a host of changes with reworked dashboard and an updated infotainment system.

The infotainment system will be identical to one offered in the XUV 500 with connectivity features such as Android Auto, Ecosense, Connected Apps and the Emergency-Call.

The 2017 facelifted Scorpio is likely to draw power from the existing 2.2-litre have diesel engine producing 120bhp and 280Nm of torque. The major changes will be done to the transmission of the SUV.

The updated Scorpio will be equipped with an upgraded 6-speed automatic transmission manufactured by Aisin. The same gearbox is deployed in the XUV 500; the new gearbox is said to be more responsive.
