Lewis Hamilton’s Dad Proposes His Own Radical Concept For Closed Cockpit Formula Racing
Lewis Hamilton's father Anthony Hamilton has proposed his new concept for the closed cockpit formula racing car and the design is rendered by German designer Andries van Overbeeke.
In recent times Formula 1 is more concerned about the safety of the drivers and the closed cockpit concept is in the news for quite a while now.
Now Anthony Hamilton, father of three-time Formula 1 world champion has proposed his closed cockpit concept. It is rendered by German designer Andries van Overbeeke.
Anthony served as his son's manager at the beginning of his career until father and son parted their professional ways about seven years ago after Lewis won his first world title with McLaren.
Currently, the halo design is said to be the solution for the closed cockpit in Formula 1. Apart from that, the aero screen is also under consideration. But this concept is different regarding its application.
The new concept design envisions a separate racing series which features fatter tyres compared to the 2017 2017 FIA Formula One World Championship and lower drag coefficient with less downforce.
The concept model is powered by a V8 engine with a hybrid electric assist. The power is delivered to all the four wheels to give it all-wheel traction.
The overall design is sleek and looks futuristic. Although the design might never come to life, the idea of this completely closed cockpit is at least worth considering.
