Land Rover Slashes Price Of Its SUVs In India — Is Brexit To Be Blamed?
Land Rover has slashed the price of its SUVs in India. Both the locally assembled products and imported SUVs gets a massive price cut.
Several automakers in the country are hiking the prices for their cars, but Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India seems to be heading in the opposite direction. Yes, Land Rover has slashed the price of its SUVs in India.
As per reports from Autocar India, Land Rover has cut the price for its locally assemble SUVs, the Discovery Sport and Evoque. Both the SUVs get a price cut of Rs 4 lakh and Rs 3 lakh respectively.
But the surprising fact is that the price cut for the imported models is even bigger. Land Rover's flagship SUV, the Range Rover Vogue gets a massive price cut of Rs 50 lakh. The Range Rover Sport's price has been slashed by Rs 30 lakh.
As per reports, the drop in the value of Pound is the main reason for the drop in price. The revised pricing will also help JLR to position its luxury SUVs against its German and Swedish rivals.
The Indian product portfolio of Land Rover includes Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in the CBU form. The new Discovery Sport and the 2017 Range Rover Evoque are locally assembled in India.
Land Rover will also launch the Velar SUV to strengthen its presence in the luxury SUV segment in the country. The Velar will be slotted between the Evoque and Sport and will be the fourth product of the Range Rover family.
