Lamborghini Builds Exclusive Paint Shop For The Urus
Lamborghini's most awaited Urus, its first modern-era SUV, has received a considerable investment for an undisclosed amount.
To protect the investment, Lamborghini has built an exclusive paint shop for the Urus. The building covers 10,000 square meters and is expected to be operational by the end of 2018.
This new paint shop for Urus will cater to the increased demand generated by the all-new product for the Italian carmaker. The new facility will require Lamborghini to hire up to 200 people to handle the maximum capacity of the plant.
The paint shop will be able to paint more cars than ever before by Lamborghini. There is a possibility that the paint shop can be utilised to paint other models in the establishment that will be inaugurated along with the Urus; however, the company has not confirmed anything in that direction.
The Lamborghini Urus has already created close to 500 jobs on its own, as the company had to hire skilled specialists to manage the machines on the production line, along with taking care of vital parts of the assembly process.
Like other fascinating and luxury supercar makers, Lamborghini strives to focus on craftsmanship wherever possible. The company though does depend on robotic assistance where its presence is required to build better cars or to eliminate any chances of mistakes.
Even mass market manufacturers work on the same lines, but there is a difference in Lamborghini's approach. It has introduced a customisation process within the paint shop, which will bring improved revenue without increasing the costs for the company.
Once the paint shop is completed, the site in Italy will cover a total of 160,000 square meters, out of which 150,000 sqm will represent the production facility.
