Lamborghini Biopic To Star Antonio Banderas And Alec Baldwin
Antonio Banderas will star as Ferruccio Lamborghini; Alec Baldwin to star as his rival, Enzo Ferrari.
Antonio Banderas will play Ferruccio Lamborghini in an upcoming biopic based on the life of the Italian businessman, while Alec Baldwin will co-star as his antagonist, Enzo Ferrari.
In 2016, a Ferruccio Lamborghini biopic, with the working title Lamborghini - The Legend, was confirmed to be in the making, based on a book by Lamborghini's son, Tonino. The distribution company behind the biopic, the Ambi Group, has also roped in Academy Award-winning director Michael Radford to steer the project.
The biopic will follow Ferruccio's story from his tractor manufacturing days to a producer of some of the world's most prized and sought after fascinating cars.
"This story of Lamborghini is not only about cars, engines and a remarkable career," AMBI Group founder Monika Bacardi said when the film was first announced in late 2015. "There is a fascinating, but lesser-known private life and a beautiful love story that will be told through our movie."
Alec Baldwin will be prominently seen in the movie alongside Antonio Banderas as Enzo Ferrari, who played a vital role in Lamborghini's life.
Ferruccio, who began his career building tractors, was not happy with his Ferrari as he thought it was too noisy and rough for public roads. Also, the clutch required replacement far too frequently. He brought his grievances to Enzo, who didn't take to kindly to them. This dispute motivated Lamborghini to begin developing his exotic cars.
Shooting for Lamborghini - The Legend will start in Italy later this year.
