Anand Mahindra Gifts Mahindra Battle Tank To Badminton Champion Kidambi Srikanth
Anand Mahindra tweeted about gifting Srikanth with the car after a twitter user tweeted to him, asking him to do something about the Rs 5 lakh being offered as cash prize
Mahindra Group's Chairman and MD, Anand Mahindra is known for being an active twitter user, tweeting about all things that matter to him while being a little humorous as well. What he is also known for is, being a generous giver. Anand Mahindra has in the past announced giveaways to quite a few people.
Whether it be gifting a brand new Mahindra Thar to Indian Olympic wrestler Sakshi Malik, or gifting a brand new Mahindra Supro to an auto rickshaw driver from Kerala, just because he had modified the rear of his auto to look like a Mahindra Scorpio. Well, seems like Mr. Mahindra just cannot stop being Santa for those who deserve it.
The latest in the 'deserve it' list is, Kidambi Srikanth, Indian Badminton player, now being hailed as the best badminton player in the world after clinching his second successive superseries title. While a majority of sports lovers in India seemed affixed on the Cricket world cup, it seems like Mr. Mahindra watched every move of Kidambi Srikanth, tweeting about every win of his.
After Srikanth's superseries title win, the Badminton Association of India gave him a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh for his achievement. While many were disappointed with it, not many were vocal about it except one particular twitter user who seemed wary of Mr. Mahindra's generous nature.
The twitter user, named 'NastreTheMust' tweeted directly to Mr. Mahindra ranting about how the five lakh rupees Srikanth got was nothing compared to cricket. The tweet ended urging Mr. Mahindra to do something about it. And he did.
Mr. Mahindra was prompt in his reply, and replied confirming that Steamroller (nickname given to Srikanth by Mr. Mahindra for reasons unknown) made us proud and deserves a battle tank. Which, in Mahindra's language speak refers to the TUV 300.This time, Mr. Mahindra's giveaway is even more special because the his tweet mentioned that he would personally gift Kidambi Srikanth the TUV 300, whereas in the case of Sakshi Malik, he had instructed Mahindra's CEO to gift her the Thar.
