2017 Jeep Compass India Launch In August 2017
Jeep India is all geared up for the introduction of its compact SUV, the Compass. The new SUV will be launched in India by August 2017.
Jeep India is all set to introduce its compact SUV, the Compass in India. The test mules have been already spotted testing on the Indian roads.
According to a report from ETAuto, the Jeep Compass will be launched in the Indian market in August 2017. The small SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 19 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
The Jeep Compass SUV is based on the ‘small-wide 4x4 architecture' which also underpins the Jeep Renegade. Globally, the compact SUV is offered in four trims and it is not confirmed whether the same strategy will be adopted for India.
The compact SUV from Jeep gets design elements from its elder sibling, the Grand Cherokee. The front fascia of the SUV features a seven-slot grille with the black-gloss finish, headlamp bezels with black outline and clamshell bonnet with double break line and centre bulge.
The interior of the 2017 Jeep Compass features 7-inch infotainment system with Android Autoplay and Apple CarPlay and many other tech features. The SUV is available in three petrol engine and two diesel engine variants in the global market.
The India-spec Compass is expected to be offered in both petrol and diesel variants with 7-speed automatic transmission. It is believed that Jeep will also offer the 4x2 and 4x4 variants of the compact SUV in India.
The Jeep Compass will be manufactured at the Fiat Chrysler Automobile's Ranjangaon manufacturing plant in Maharashtra. The plant will also export the Compass to the right-hand drive global markets. Once launched in India the compact SUV will take on the likes of Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson.
