Jaguar XE 2.0-Litre Diesel India Launch Details Revealed
The Jaguar XE diesel model will be powered by the 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel motor.
Jaguar XE was the only offering in the company's India product lineup lacking a diesel heart. Now, the automaker has confirmed that it will launch the diesel model of the XE by the end of April 2017.
JLR India has been updating its entire portfolio to the Ingenium diesel engine family. The Jaguar XE too will be offered with this new-generation four-cylinder diesel unit mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox - standard across variants.
However, it is to be seen if Jaguar will offer the 180bhp Ingenium diesel unit which does its duties on the XF and the F-Pace.
We expect Jaguar to equip the XE diesel model with the 162bhp unit to power the XE. In all possibility, the company could offer the sedan with the 2.0-litre diesel in both states of tune.
The petrol model of the Jaguar XE comes in two states of tune from the 2.0-litre motor. With the addition of the diesel heart to the XE sedan, the X family from Jaguar will be complete with both petrol and diesel options.
