Film star ackie Chan stated that the Le Mans LMP2 victory felt like receiving an Oscar.
Action star Jackie Chan stated that his LMP2 team's victory and an overall runner-up spot in the Le Mans 24 Hour felt exactly like when he got an Oscar.
The #38 Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca had the overall lead in the race with 70 minutes to go. But the recovering Porsche 919 Hybrid overhauled the lead and took the race victory.
The DC Racing Oreca car was piloted by Ho-Pin Tung, Oliver Jarvis and Thomas Laurent and was victorious in the LMP2 class and was second overall. The team’s sister car also finished fourth overall and third in the LMP2 class.
The martial arts legend, Chan was awarded an honorary Oscar in 2016. He was not present at this year’s Le Mans race but sent a live message. Chan said, “How exciting! It’s exactly like when I got an Oscar. Really, watching it on video, I’m just sorry I could not be there.
He added, “But, anyway, no matter where you are, we win! We have to continue now, work hard for next year, and coming years and years.”
