2017 Isuzu MU-X Facelift Unveiled; India Launch Imminent

Isuzu has given a mild update which includes exterior and interior tweaks to the new MU-X SUV.

Isuzu has just revealed the facelifted version of the MU-X SUV for global markets. The MU-X is the heir to the MU-7 and is expected to be launched in India later this year.

The 2017 Isuzu MU-X comes with many changes to the exteriors and interiors apart from some mechanical updates. The facelifted MU-X now gets a reworked front bumper and grille along with LED DRLs and projector headlamps.

Also, the facelifted MU-X gets 18-inch alloy wheels replacing the older 17-inch wheels. At the rear, the bumper has been redesigned, and the tail lamps now get LED inserts.

As for the interiors, the dashboard of the SUV gets a dual tone colour motif along with faux wood inlays. Also, the SUV gets a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The new Isuzu MU-X is either powered by the 1.9-litre diesel engine producing 150bhp or a 3.0-litre oil-burner producing 177bhp.

The smaller engine gets a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox but misses out on the four-wheel drive (4WD) while, the bigger engine gets 4WD and the 6-speed AT as a standard fitment.

The Isuzu MU-X is India bound and will succeed the MU-7 here. The D-Max V-Cross has found a lot of auto enthusiasts in India, and thus Isuzu is gaining decent traction in the Indian market. The MU-X will compete with the likes of the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
