No details of the new N performance model has been revealed. But Hyundai had previously hinted that the new model would rival the four-wheel-drive Ford Focus RS.

The Head of Hyundai's High-Performance Vehicle Development Centre, Joonhong Park stated that the N division would handpick only appropriate models from the Hyundai range.

Park said that Hyundai has no plans to have an N performance model for every car the company produces. The N Division will not integrate the electric, hybrid and fuel cell technologies into the N model.

Biermann said the emotion and character are the key reason not to use the alternative powertrains in such a short term. He said, "But for me, it's hard to imagine a performance car without an engine - although maybe that's me getting old."
