Hyundai Creta Facelift India Launch Details — Is The Wait Worthy?
Hyundai could launch the facelifted Creta in India in 2018 and here’s what we can expect from the South Korean carmaker.
The Hyundai Creta created quite a stir in the Indian market and after the launch became the best-selling SUV in India for a brief period. The Creta has been a consistent seller for the South Korean carmaker.
Now, Hyundai is deciding to give the Creta a mid-life facelift, and the vehicle is due in 2018. As per Autocar India, the facelift Creta is already in the works and similar to the new Xcent and the Grand i10, the Creta will receive cosmetic updates, like the new grille.
Other changes could be in the form of redesigned headlights and tail lamps, including the front fog lamps. The interior will remain identical to the present model of the Creta, apart from an updated instrument cluster, infotainment system, and colour combinations.
The Hyundai Creta is currently powered by a selection of engines that include a 123bhp 1.6-litre petrol motor, a 90bhp 1.4-litre diesel engine, and a 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine. The 1.6-litre diesel engine comes with an optional automatic gearbox only, while a 6-speed manual is standard.
It is quite unlikely for Hyundai to update the engine on the facelift model, but could integrate a mild hybrid system for better mileage. Hyundai would bring in a 7-seater Creta to India but in 2021.
