Honda WR-V Teased Ahead Of India Launch — Will It Be Tough Enough?
Honda India has teased the new WR-V ahead of its India launch on March 16, 2017. The crossover is derived from the Jazz.
Honda India is gearing up for the launch of its hatchback crossover, the WR-V. Ahead of its India launch on March 16, 2017, the manufacturer has teased the new model.
The WR-V is based on the company's premium hatchback, the Jazz. But the car maker has done the right amount of work to keep the styling distinctive. The high bonnet line, roof rails and plastic cladding give the vehicle a rugged look.
The exterior of the new WR-V features redesigned headlamps, circular fog lamps, chrome door handles and diamond cut alloy wheels. The interior of the vehicle sports a touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control.
Coming to the powerhouse of the new WR-V, the hatchback crossover will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version will draw power from a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine producing 89bhp and 110Nm of torque.
The diesel variant of the WR-V will be equipped with a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine churning out 99bhp and 200Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are derived from its hatchback sibling, the Jazz.
The WR-V is an important product for the Japanese automaker in the Indian market. So the pricing is expected to be around Rs 7 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi) to Rs 9 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
When launched in India the WR-V will take on its segment rivals such as Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai i20 Active and Toyota Etios Cross.
