Honda WR-V India Launch Date Announced — And The Countdown Begins...
Honda WR-V - the crossover hatchback is all set to launch in India. What can we expect from the upcoming Honda WR-V? Launch details, variants, and features explained.
Honda India recently launched the much-awaited 2017 Honda City and received an overwhelming response for the sedan. Now, the company is gearing up to launch the WR-V on March 16, a hatchback crossover.
What to expect from the Honda WR-V?
On the design front, the company has worked hard to keep the styling distinctive; the WR-V is a hatchback crossover derived from the Jazz. Overall, the styling is fresh with a high bonnet line, roof rails, and plastic cladding, giving it a rugged appearance.
Regarding the engine and features, the WR-V will get petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is the standard 1.2-litre i-VTEC, which is also provided on the Jazz. The engine produces 89bhp, and peak torque of 110Nm mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a CVT.
The WR-V diesel version, on the other hand, will run on a 1.5-litre i-DTEC that produces a maximum power output of 99bhp and maximum torque of 200Nm, mated to six-speed manual transmission.
Some standout features to look out for on the WR-V are the touch screen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and climate control air conditioning.
Overall, the WR-V is a big launch for Honda India and will compete with the likes of Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai i20 Active and Toyota Etios Cross in India.
