Honda Mobilio Facelift Teased Ahead Of Global Unveil
The Honda Mobilio facelift will get all-new City-like front profile; unveil expected on January 10, 2017.
Honda had recently launched the facelifted Amaze subcompact sedan and Brio hatchback in India, and now it is getting ready to give its Mobilio MPV a facelift as well.
The Honda Mobilio was launched in India back in 2014 to compete with the likes of Maruti Ertiga. After three years, Honda is looking to facelift the Mobilio and teaser images have surfaced in Indonesia where it is expected to be unveiled on January 10, 2017.
The teaser images of the facelifted Honda Mobilio reveal major updates on the styling front. The majority of the changes is at the front, where the headlights are lot smaller than the outgoing model.
Like the City sedan, the Mobilio's grille is wider and has got a chrome strip running across. Also, the front bumper is new with angular front air-intakes and obvious cuts for the fog lamp housing similar to the styling of the new Brio and Amaze.
The headlights are new with LED daytime-running lights at the bottom edge of the lights. Honda has had launched a mild upgrade of the Mobilio for the international market with refreshed interior and a new dashboard.
As for the teaser images of the Mobilio facelift, there is no details of the interior or if there will be any changes. For India, though the company has not updated the Mobilio since its launch back in 2014.
The current Honda Mobilio model in India has been struggling in terms of sales and the company was able to sell 3,396 units for the year ending November 2016 compared to 16,380 units sold in the same period in 2015.
The facelift of the Mobilio could bring some relief to Honda in terms of sales in India to gain market share in the sub 10 lakh MPV segment.
As of now, Honda is preparing to launch the facelifted City sedan and the upcoming Honda WR-V crossover based on the Jazz platform.
If you are looking to buy a new hatchback this year why not consider the next-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift. The new Swift is stylish and angular and weighs lesser compared to the outgoing model. Below are the images of the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift, click to view.
