Manic Honda Civic Type R To Debut At Geneva In Production Guise
The Production-spec 2017 Honda Civic Type R hot hatchback will debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The car debuted as a concept at last year's Paris Motor Show.
Japanese carmaker Honda has confirmed that the production-spec Civic Type R hot hatch will make its official debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The production spec Honda Civic Type R was previewed in concept guise at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
The new production-spec Civic Type R is expected to keep quite a few of its concept version's bonkers design cues that wowed the crowds at Paris last year. The concept car at the Paris show floor sported a huge scoop on the bonnet, flared wheel arches, and an imposing rear wing that looked like something out of a rally car.
Honda will continue using a 2.0-turbocharged VTEC petrol engine similar to the previous generation car though the power levels are set to go up from the current output of 306bhp and 400Nm of torque. The increase in horsepower will also ensure that 0-100km/h sprint time of the new Type R will be significantly faster than the current car as well.
Honda's production facility in Swindon, England is where the new Civic Type-R will be produced alongside the regular car. Honda will export the new Civic Type R from England to international markets including the United States where the new hot-hatchback will be the first Honda badged Type R to hit the streets. Let's just hope the Donald doesn't get in the way.

The Honda Civic Type R may be one the coolest looking hit hatchbacks around but it seems very unlikely it will ever come to India bar some unforeseen miracle.
