Fourth-Generation Honda City Crosses A Significant Milestone
Honda has sold 680,000 units of the City sedan since its launch in India in 1998.
Japanese carmaker, Honda announced that its most popular City's fourth-generation model has crossed 2.5 lakh unit sales milestone in India.
Honda launched the latest generation City in India in January 2014 and has been in the Indian market for over three years now. The 4th generation City was launched with an all-new i-DTEC diesel engine and a new-generation CVT transmission technology.
Also, the model witnessed a substantial change in customer's choices, with over 30 percent choosing the highly fuel-efficient CVT variant.
Yoichiro Ueno, President & CEO, Honda Cars India, said, "The Honda City is an important pillar of Honda's business and success in India. With its new-generation technologies, the 4th Generation City meets our customers' aspirations for a premium product."
Honda has sold 680,000 units of the City sedan since its launch in India in 1998. India is the largest and the most significant market for the Honda City as it accounts for over 25 percent of the sedan's global sales.
Internationally, the Honda City has recorded combined sales of over 3.5 million units in more than 60 countries. Out of this, over one million units are associated with the 4th Generation City.
