Government Plans To Deliver Fuel To Your Doorstep
The Oil Ministry of India is planning to introduce door delivery of petrol and diesel. The delivery will be carried out by petroleum vehicles.
The Oil Ministry of India is planning to deliver the fuel to your doorstep like the food items and LPG gas. As per reports, the delivery will be done by vehicles carrying petroleum products.
Speaking to TOI, Oil Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the idea is to have mini petrol pumps on wheels. The supply of fuel to customers doorstep will also reduce the rush at the petrol pumps.
Pradhan said, "Suppose you leave for work at 9 am. So you go to the portal, book your delivery, make online payment and say that you want the fuel delivered at 8 am the next day. It will be done before you leave home."
When asked about the safety of the supply of fuel on wheels, the Minister stated that the vehicles would be monitored by sectoral safety regulator, Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation.
The latest consumer-friendly initiative was announced at Parliament's consultative committee meeting. The Oil Ministry also launched several other initiatives including online booking and payments of LPG connections and refills.
Apart from the consumer, the initiative will create a new segment of jobs in the oil retail sector. The rural areas will be benefited from this move as the petrol pumps are usually located near the highway or state road.
