Gaurav Gill Honoured With Motorsports Person Of The Year Award By FMSCI
Indian rally driver and two-time Asia Pacific Rally Champion, Gaurav Gill was honoured with Motorsports Person of The Year award by FMSCI.
Indian ace rally driver and two-time Asia Pacific Rally Champion, Gaurav Gill has been honoured with Motorsports Person of The Year award at the annual Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India prize giving ceremony.
The award ceremony was held in Hyderabad on occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Indian motorsport governing body, the FMSCI. Drivers and riders were felicitated on their achievement in motorsports.
The awards were presented by FIA President, Jean Todt. Todt made his second visit to the country in last 12 months.
Todt said, "India has always been a very strong federation in the FIA and I want to tell you that you now have a very strong ally in me to develop motor sport in the country."
Gill was honoured with prestigious Motorsports Person Of The Year Award after his impressive APRC run this year. Gill won all the six rallies in the championship to win the 2016 APRC title.
After receiving the award Gill said, "It's an honour to receive the trophy from Mr Todt, one of the legends in the world of racing. I will have to win it again and again so that it stays in my cabinet."
Apart from that, other National Champions in different motorsport disciplines were also honoured with trophies, several other Indian drivers were recognised for their performance in international motorsport events.
